Research Team

MAPCoSMo project combines clinical, sociological and technological research, utilizing the expertise of five major diverse research and academic institutions within Greece. We will collect data from marginalized, vulnerable social groups to identify markers of impairments of communication, swallowing and mobility with the goal to construct an interactive, practical online tool to limit possible effects of social marginalization

The mission of the Department of Speech & Language Therapy is to provide high quality education on the processes of human communication and swallowing, and on the prevention, assessment and intervention of related disorders and conditions, to conduct high quality research and produce novel scientific knowledge in the field, and to serve the community, focusing on individuals and groups with communication disorders and diverse needs. The Department was founded on 1996 and it is the first Speech & Language Therapy Department in Greece. Three faculty members of the Department are involved in the project, specializing in the fields of Speech-Language Pathology and Information Technology.
